Country Meadow Village took a trip to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival and Program Director David Bricka was able to take this stunning photo! That’s the back of the Country Meadow Village bus, which has a wrapped photo of the tulip fields, and one of the actual fields in the background. Pretty cool!

Flyswatter volleyball a big deal at Country Meadow Village

In fact, the two designated teams, the Falcons and Meadowlarks, are currently involved in a five game series playing one game a month. They each have practice schedules to work on form and technique prior to the monthly game. Currently, the Falcons are leading the series 2-1, putting the Meadowlarks in a must-win situation at the upcoming April 26th game.
Jackie Cress, new director for the Burlington Senior Center, caught wind of this awesome activity at Country Meadow Village and decided to give program director David Bricka a call to find out what this flyswatter volleyball was all about. The two of them got to talking and thought it would be fun to have a challenge, so the Country Meadow Village teams joined forces and named their newly merged team the Falcolarks and recently competed against the Burlington Blasters, the team from the Burlington Senior Center. The Falcolarks were treated to a friendly lunch at the senior center right before the match.
The game was close, with the Blasters winning 15-13. The Falcolarks plan on having the Burlington Blasters over soon for a rematch. See more pictures of the Blasters-Falcolarks game here.

Country Meadow Village Flyswatter Volleyball teams the Meadowlarks and Falcons are joining forces to take on a team fielded by the Burlington Senior Center on Friday, April 13. Equal representation from each team will hop on the bus and head on over to the Center to compete in a “Flyswatter Volleyball Smackdown”. New Senior Center Director Jackie Cress had the idea to challenge Country Meadow Village after reading an article that ran in the Skagit Valley Herald.
“We’re taking you down Country Meadow Village,” Cress recently said to Country Meadow Program Director David Bricka.
“In your dream, Cress,” Bricka replied, knowing the strength and power of the Flyswatter way of life. “In your dreams.”
