Skagit County Commissioner Sharon Dillon participated in a Memorial Day Ceremony at Country Meadow Village that included flag placement in Country Meadow’s Memorial Garden and dedication of a new flag. Dillon spoke about the sacrifice and service of the men and women that so bravely served our country. This is her fourth year participating in Country Meadow’s annual Memorial Day Ceremony. Program Director David Bricka also gave a history about Memorial Day and resident Janet Monk read the famous poem “In Flanders Fields” as part of the service.

Country Meadow Village was filled with the laughter of children of all ages as the kids from Burlington Little School paid a visit to celebrate May Day. 25 eager students came with custom-made cards and beautiful flowers to pass out to residents during the program. We had a special treat when one of the student’s great grandmother came out to play the harmonica and his grandmother came out to play the accordion, leading the group in festive song.
