At Spiritwood at Pine Lake, our primary goal is to provide residents with the best in Assisted Living and Memory Care in the Issaquah area. We want to provide Assisted Living services in a way that meets our residents’ needs and allows them to continue to live here in our community with the respect, dignity, and compassion they deserve while promoting a safe, healthy, and happy lifestyle. One key indicator of the success of our efforts is the annual Boarding Home Survey performed by the Washington Department of Social and Health Services. Assisted Living communities are regulated at the state level. Since care is administered at these communities, the state conducts regular surveys to make sure that certain criteria is met in order to properly care for its residents and to be a licensed Assisted Living community. We are very proud to announce that at our annual survey, completed in April, 2013, resulted in zero deficiencies!

2013 Annual Easter Egg Hunt

The Klahanie Annual Easter Egg Hunt on March 30th was a big success! Over 200 people showed at Mountainview Park to participate in the festivities. Kids had the chance to get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny (Stephanie Eggers), get a temporary Easter tattoo, and a chance to find one of the 12 golden eggs hidden throughout the park. Thanks to all of the volunteers that helped us put on the Easter Egg Hunt this year, as well as to all those who volunteered their time to stuff Easter eggs. In addition, we would like to send a special THANKS to Spiritwood at Pine Lake Retirement Community for donating over 3,000 stuffed Easter eggs to Klahanie’s Easter Egg Hunt! This marks their 2nd year of donating their time, energy, and money to help keep our tradition going! We definitely could not have put on such a successful Egg Hunt this year without everyone’s help!

Spiritwood hosts Senior Fraud Seminar

Spiritwood resident crochets Easter baskets

Spiritwood at Pine Lake’s Betty Vaughan crocheted more than 100 Easter baskets for Spiritwood residents.

Spiritwood staff members filled the baskets with Easter eggs and candy, and then delivered them to the residents and their families at Easter brunch.

Vaughan is 90 years young, wears a constant smile, and delights in giving her “labors of love” to friends and loved ones.

She has been knitting and crocheting since she was 8 years old. Most of her baskets and slippers are donated to charity.
